UNHOUSED ADVOCACY

This poster series intends to foster awareness and build empathy toward the unhoused community. Each piece strategically features a commonly spoken microaggression in bold, dominant text, capturing the viewer’s attention. This confronts the viewer with their own possible harsh judgments. Then, within this text, a smaller, intimate, personal story of someone experiencing homelessness is shared. This reveals the deeper reality of their situation. By first confronting the viewer with a harsh judgment and then guiding them to a more humanizing perspective, the execution challenges privileged assumptions and encourages a shift toward understanding and compassion.
